Hands down, winning the 1994 Regional Championship in the
friendly confines of Spartan Municipal Stadium.
Winning a Regional Championship is a special thing, but to
do so 10 miles from home in such dominating fashion really
is something else… |

Briefly describe your hardest loss at Wheelersburg |
|
The
loss to Germantown Valley View in the state-semifinals… the
loss to Ironton was a tough one that shouldn’t have gone
down the way it did, but unlike the loss to Valley View, it
wasn’t a career-ender.
To
say that it was "disheartening" to work as hard as we did
(since before we were even teenagers) with the singular goal
of reaching the State Finals and taking home another State
Title to Wheelersburg, yet fall just short of that
realization… well, that would be an understatement! |

Describe the most memorable event while playing at
Wheelersburg |

There are too many to single out just one…
going unbeaten through junior high, watching the Pirates win
it all in the ‘Shoe in ’89, Coach Miller announcing his
retirement at my first high school football banquet as a
freshman, getting into my first varsity game and making a
play as a sophomore, working back from a season ending
shoulder injury as junior, arriving at the "player’s
entrance" for the Ironton game to see a line of fans snaking
down the hill before the gates had even opened and hoisting
the Regional Championship trophy over my head as a senior… |
