Briefly describe your best win at Wheelersburg

 I think our best win was against Portsmouth the last game of the regular season.  It was the first Portsmouth / Wheelersburg game in several years because the rivalry had become too heated.  Add the fact that both teams were 8-1 going in and you can imagine the level of anticipation.  Portsmouth had some great athletes that year, but we were pretty quick and our ‘D’ was swarming.  In the end, the TEAM play of the Pirates took the day.  Final score 7-0 with the only points coming on an interception for TD.

 Briefly describe your hardest loss at Wheelersburg

 The hardest loss came against Barnesville in the playoffs.  We really felt like our team speed would carry us through.  Unfortunately, by the time we hit the field, it was covered in ice.  Needless to say, our speed advantage went out the window.  We led 7-0 for most of the game until Barnesville took a trick play to the 1 and scored late in the fourth quarter.  We lost 10-7 in overtime on a tipped field goal.

 Describe the most memorable event while playing at Wheelersburg

 What is most memorable for me is what we were able to accomplish that year.  No one expected us to win many games.  We played hard; we had fun and we overachieved.
